Any service or repair your ac system might need from cleaning of evaporator units to full repair and replacement of all a/c system components.

Obvious signs would be that it is not blowing very strong or the air has an unpleasant odor. If it’s not cooling efficiently this can be from a dirty evaporator unit or could be any number of other items as well. Similar to how a/c wall units in your house need to be cleaned on a regular basis, car a/c units are no different. Thailand air quality can be quite dusty so if driving under normal conditions, a yearly cleaning would be a good idea.

The a/c system is a closed system, so if the freon is low it is most likely leaking from somewhere so we don’t suggest only refilling the freon as this is just a temporary fix. It is better to do a leak-down test, fix the leak, and then recharge.

Firstly, look at your car’s heat gauge to see if the temperature is higher than normal. It can be part of your car's normal warning system to cut the a/c so you become aware of your car’s overheating issue. If the heat is higher than normal, pull over to the side of the road and call for assistance on further diagnosis. The last thing you want to do is to drive your car with a cooling issue and potentially cause internal engine damage.

Getting a tune-up would be a good idea if you have an older car and have never done one or if you notice a loss of power, fuel efficiency, etc. A tune-up can involve multiple services such as cleaning and gapping spark plugs or replacement if necessary, throttle-body cleaning, air-flow sensor cleaning, cleaning or replacement of the air filter, internal engine and/or fuel system cleaners. It’s best to have this done at the same time as an oil change if the internal engine cleaners are part of the tune-up.

The older the car, especially with recent engine work, the more often you should be checking it (weekly). For newer cars it is not necessary to check it as often, but still a good habit (every couple months).

Let's hope this doesn’t happen to you, but the main cause we see is because of cooling system problems, whether that be from a hose leak, radiator efficiency, radiator cap, radiator fan, faulty thermostat/ water valve.

Rebuilding
Pros: 1) Once you’re done you know what you’ve got. 2) You get a warranty on the particular internal parts replaced.
Cons: It takes about 2-3 weeks to complete.
Replacing with used engine
Pros: Replacement is faster than overhauling.
Cons: 1) You don’t know the condition of the internal parts, 2) You don’t get a warranty on the engine.

It varies dependending on the make and model as well as what level of overhaul. Until the engine is taken apart it is not possible to give an accurate quote of the severity of the internal damage. Initially we will charge for a disassembly and diagnosis time. From here we can give an accurate quote in terms of what parts need to be replaced or repaired.

For standard automatic transmission fluid change, you would drain the fluid from the drain plug and add new fluid. This method will only replace about half the fluid in the system as the remaining fluid is still sitting in other components of the transmission.
An automatic transmission fluid flush would entail either using a machine to extract all the old fluid while replacing with new fluid (this will use about double the amount of fluids as a standard drain and replace). Alternatively without the use of a machine you can drain and replace the fluid, run the transmission, then drain and replace a second time. This method is not quite as effective at removing all the old fluid as a flush machine.
In the case that the transmission fluid is extremely dirty or you are having some other transmission issues it may be a good idea to remove the transmission pan and replace the internal filter (if any), as well as clean the magnets that attract tiny metal particles.

Most likely a fuse is out, though we’ve even seen 1 baht coins stuck inside :). Sometimes this can be caused by low quality usb power outlets that don’t manage the power consumption. We can replace the fuse for you but we also suggest to only use a higher quality 12V usb power outlet.

Usually this is caused by some components of the cooling system failure such as a hose leak, radiator efficiency, radiator cap problem, radiator fan, faulty thermostat/ water valve, etc. Your engine can also overheat from other issues such as low oil level but hope that’s not the case!

Checking during normal servicing should be enough for newer cars, but It's a great idea to check it every fews weeks on an older car. The number one major engine problems we see are caused by water loss or cooling system failure.

You can, but we wouldn’t recommend it unless it's an emergency for a temporary fix. If you have to put water in, distilled water like you would put in a car battery is best as it doesn’t have the amount of minerals and chemicals as other water. If the car has coolant in it, then adding additional water will dilute the coolant and its efficacy to increase the boiling point of the water as well as its anti-corrosion and lubricating properties.

This depends on the type of coolant among other factors. We can monitor your coolant condition and boiling point rating during regular service intervals.

We recommend to put in the manufacturer’s recommended type of coolant that is the best for your engine and radiator metal types. There are several types of coolant which you can find in both concentrated (needs to be mixed with the proper ratio of water) and pre-mixed form. The most common type of coolant is made of Ethylene Glycol, but there are also other types such as Organic or Carboxylate Technology.
Don’t get confused with the colors of coolant either; just because the coolant is the same color does not mean it is the same type. It is important not to mix different types of coolant. If you are topping off coolant, be sure to make sure you are putting in the same kind, otherwise a full flush and refill is the way to go. In order to eliminate water quality issues and ratio mixture mistakes, we only used pre-mixed coolant.

Firstly the right kind 🙂 ie. Petrol or Diesel engine. Secondly some of the more expensive types of diesel, for example, have extra additives that can assist with better part lubrication and performance.
For petrol engines, it's the same in terms of additives, but also different octane levels such as 91, 95, and if it's an ethanol blend can be better suited for some models. Generally, we would recommend to go with the higher octane it is available.

Sure! Read all about our recommended additives here.

This is different from model to model. Consult your user manual for the manufacturer's recommended service interval.

"Since diesel fuel is thicker and denser than gasoline, the fuel pump will struggle to move the diesel/gasoline mixture through the system. Also, the diesel will not be able to easily pass through the fuel filter. Instead, it will clog up the fuel filter. And whatever amount of diesel that then makes its way to the engine will clog the fuel injectors, making them inoperable. This will result in the engine gumming up and seizing. The gasoline engine may run for a little while after diesel has been put in the tank, but that is only because it is still running on the fuel line's remaining gasoline.
As bad as that situation may be, the opposite problem – pouring gasoline into a diesel tank – would be far worse. Because of gasoline's high combustion tendencies, it would ignite much sooner than diesel fuel would. This early ignition and volatility could cause catastrophic damage to the diesel engine and its components.”

If it’s just plain water most likely it's just your a/c system condensation drainage. If it's an especially humid day there can be a lot.

All the engine’s systems are supposed to be closed and not leak, so unless it's just condensation from your a/c working, then it's best to check how severe the leak is, and check your fluids levels before driving the car to get checked.
Motor oil, depending on if it is a petrol or diesel engine can be from a clear brownish color to an almost black color. Power steering and transmission fluid are oily and usually a reddish color. Coolant is more watery and can be a variety of colors from green, pink, blue, green, red, orange.
