If you want expert service or need to navigate the latest laws regarding buying or selling your car this is the place. Without their experience in dealing with the government it would have been nearly impossible to sell my car. No only did they save me time and headaches but gave me a fair price for my car. Two thumbs up!
I bought a pickup truck from them before and just traded it in, buying a Subaru Forester. Since they did not have what we wanted on their lot, we did a car search for a fee, and they looked for a few weeks until they found one. We really appreciate that they do full-service in transferring ownership, me selling the pickup truck to them and them brokering the purchase of the Subaru. Great people and great service.
Recently bought a pick up here. Test drove it a few times and got a good feeling for the place. The whole buying process was very simple and straightforward and they transfer the car into your name as well. Excellent service.
I was dreading the experience of shopping for a secondhand car but there was no need to shop around after doing a test drive, I knew I was getting a vehicle that was the straight goods. I went in today to look at a car and less than 2 hours later drove it off the lot. Walt and Tong are absolute beauties who made the process enjoyable and ridiculously easy. If you want western standard service and accountability then don’t waste you’re time going anywhere else, this is the place to go.
I'm a former Firefighter-Engineer from the USA and a Swiss-German carpenter's son. I am technically experienced, feel like I have a good eye in spotting a properly cared-for car, and extremely picky. Being so, I was very wary of the used car market here in Chiang Mai, as I can't speak Thai well enough to verify a vehicle's maintenance/accident history.Expat auto is an American Father and Son operation. Here's my strong, and I think, very correct impression - they know how westerners fear not getting what they were expecting from a typical used car dealer here, but... They not only buy/sell vehicles, they have a significant maintenance bay to maintain their customer's vehicles. Hence, they will only buy highly qualified vehicles, not somebody else's headache IMO. It only makes sense.Walter, a long-time auto mechanic and the gent who acquires the vehicles, had acquired this creampuff-looking, 1-owner 2013 Honda Accord with 110k km from a fellow westerner. Walter did a deep dive with me on all my technical and history questions.Bottom line, Walter got hold of a very well-maintained vehicle that needed very little preparation other than their usual routine of swapping out all fluids and filters(and replacing them with Honda-spec fluids/filters) and doing their 100+ point inspection.I put it through it's paces over this last month, and even had the local Honda shop where most of the maintenance work was done do a full inspection on it as a double-check. They simply said to show up in 6 months for an oil change :)I have owned 3 German and 1 Lexus passenger cars, hence I have high expectations. This car has certainly been a handsome performer for me - just try and find a low-miles Accord with full maintenance records on the market, much less any low-miles Honda.I believe this is my first review of a car dealership I have ever done. In short, I give Walter and Expat Auto my highest recommendation, especially for those wary of the used car market in Chiang Mai. [read less]
